New Maps Added to RTID Website

The Regional Transportation Investment District (RTID) Planning Committee’s package makes significant investments in the road and bridge network of King, Pierce and Snohomish counties, building approximately 186 new lane miles of highway, improving bridges, and making highway interchange improvements in 20 locations. The package recommended by the RTID also includes investments in a number of non-motorized modes and projects which incorporate environmental benefits. RTID staff have developed several new maps highlighting these investments.

Roads & Transit plan heads to November ballot*

On June 8, 2007 the Regional Transportation Investment District Planning Committee (RTID) recommended a Blueprint for Progress for major road and bridge improvements in the most congested corridors in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties.

Following the Planning Committee action, all three county councils have voted to place the Roads & Transit plan - which includes the RTID Blueprint for Progress and Sound Transit Phase 2 - on the November ballot. All three county executives have signed the ordinance to place the plan on the ballot.

*The RTID Planning Committee is prohibited from advocating for the ballot measure, but intends by its materials and speakers to provide an objective and neutral presentation of the facts concerning the ballot measure as permitted by law.
